We are a Christian school with a grace-oriented philosophy interwoven throughout our curriculum. Founded in 1904, our school has as a rich tradition of provided quality Christian education to Minnesota young people.  Our school is operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, which operates the largest Protestant educational system in the world.

We are preparing students to be successful in their future college or university pursuits, successful in life, and the leaders of tomorrow.

We offer a full academic experience in a Christian environment for young people in grades nine to twelve.  MWA students are educated to be individuals of integrity, compassion, service and spiritual commitment.

We consistently provide professional development for our teachers, bringing the most recent, effective teaching practices to our campus.

Yes, all of our teachers are certified in the areas they teach, and the majority of them hold master’s degrees.

We will encourage our teachers to use multiple sources for lesson planning that meet the needs of the diverse learners. Our curriculum is based on the NOrth American Division of Seventh-day Adventist Educational framework and aligns with both national and state standards.

We set the bar high and motivate students to reach beyond what they believe they can achieve.

The answer is YES. Our students are taught critical thinking skills and students in Adventist schools have been shown to score higher on standardized tests than the national norm.

Definitely, our school is fully accredited in the state of Minnesota and credits will transfer for classes that were completed with a passing grade.

Exploration of faith is a key part of the Maplewood Academy philosophy. We will use the Encounter Bible curriculum, which actively engages students in a grace-filled quest for personal purpose and spiritual meaning in their lives.

We expect our students to demonstrate qualities such as patience, kindness, peacefulness, and self-control. We will do our best to help our students grow and learn as they mature in character. And we will work to create an atmosphere where ALL people are accepted and show respect for one another regardless of their belief system.

Our students are provided the opportunity in our curriculum to participate in regular physical education classes.  In addition, we offer a variety of extra-curricular athletic activities for students to enjoy while developing their athletic abilities including Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, and Gymnastics.

We are fortunate to benefit from a close association with the Seventh-day Adventist Church which will enables us to offer a significantly higher value to families than the tuition at comparable private schools in the area. The Seventh-day Adventist Church and Maplewood Academy are committed to making Christian education as affordable as possible for all students.

Financial aid is provided to students with a need.  We encourage you to work with the Maplewood Academy leadership team for scholarship assistance.
